08/31/2021 #millersnoshnwalk weeks 25 and 26 Half a year now that we have been doing this. Amazing how much we love it, look forward to it, and enjoy spending the time together to do it. Last week, our nephew Andrew, and his lovely wife, Rebeka came up to the PNW for a visit. We talked about some of our outings and found that they would like to join us one one of our excursions. Learning that they both love Japanese food, and knowing that that is one of our favorites, we found a fantastic place in T-Town called The Koi. It is a sushi place with other authentic Japanese dishes where we figured everyone could find something they liked. Andrew is a big sushi fan, his wife not so much. LeAnn also enjoys seafood more than myself, but hasn’t tried sushi in a number of years, when she had last tried Ikura (salmon roe) and did not enjoy that very much. 08/21/2021 #millersnoshnwalk week 24 We have been looking forward to checking out Farm 12 for quite a while. It is down in Puyallup near the trailhead to the Foothills trail. We have taken a number of bike rides and walks on the trail and have been curious to check out this restaurant out away from it all. It worked out perfectly as we had a 15 minute wait for a table, so we walked across the street and walked the trail until our table was ready. So we walked before the nosh! The setting was quite nice and spacious inside. We ordered some seafood chowder to start, and LeAnn got a hot chocolate in August. Who knew that after being in 100 plus degrees in St. George last week, that it would barely be in the 60s this week in the Seattle area. From there, I had a beautiful burger and LeAnn had the fish and chips. The fish were as big as scones! They use local ingredients and everything was quite fresh and delicious.

08/13/2021 #millersnoshnwalk Weeks 21, 22 and 23! We celebrated LeAnns birthday by heading up near Mt. Raineir for lunch and then a walk near Crystal Mountain. We ate at a cute place called Charlie’s Cafe In Enumclaw. It was popular enough (or maybe it was because it was one of the few places around) that there was a 15 minute wait. LeAnn ordered a French Toast breakfast and I had a California burger. The food was pretty good, but likely wouldn’t go out of our way to come back. The atmosphere was fun and well decorated. We then went up to enjoy the beauty of the mountains and stopped by Greenwater on the way out for a shake. During week 22 we had headed down to Utah for a family reunion. We flew into SLC so we could spend a couple of days with my family before driving down to St George for the Thorne Family Reunion. 07/25/2021 #millersnoshnwalk week 20 We found a winner tonight! Fat Zach’s Pizza in Sumner. A hidden gem amidst the industrial neighborhoods just off of the White River. The place was spacious and cool inside. They do wood fired pizza, and after having had this, we will put Mod on the backburner. It was right up there with the Rock, though not quite as expensive. Each pie was about $12.50 for a 10 incher. They had a special 2 for $22 with a soft drink. That was our ticket tonight. I got the Fat Zach’s and LeAnn had the Povaratti. (See the different pies they have in the image below) So much goodness. The crust was great and the toppings were freshy fresh. Topped it with some garlic knots for a hearty meal. Like Ahhnold says: ‘I’ll be back!’ After the pizza settled a bit, we drove a bit over to the Sumner link trail for our walk. 07/15/2021 #millersnoshnwalk week 18 (and 19!) LeAnn and I were planning to go out and have a nice belated Anniversary dinner last Saturday night, when we got a call from our friends the Fisher’s and we’re invited to go out on their boat in the Sound. We excitedly jumped on that train (boat) and joined them for a beautiful afternoon on the water. We went from Des Moines Marina up and around Blake island. It was perfectly perfect weather, and made me fall even more in love with the PNW. Besides the beauty of enjoying nature, it was wonderful to spend some time with good friends. After getting back to the Marina, we went up the hill to Wally’s, one of the best Seafood and chowder houses in all the land. Prolly not many locals don’t know about the fantasticness of this place, and it surely did not disappoint. I had my favorite sourdough clam chowder bowl and LeAnn had Blackened Ling Cod Tacos.
