Day 104 - Des Moines Marina

I needed to take the Honda in for an oil change, so Jaylin went with LeAnn to TJHS and then Maria picked her up from there to head up to Highline College. While waiting for the oil change I got in a couple of miles around Meridian way in Edgewood.  Jaylins classes end at noon, so I went up around 10:30 toget a walk in at the Marina and Des Moines Creek trail. Turned out that Austin called for our video chat while I was walking, so had a nice visit with him. 
I got in about 6 miles and then picked Jaylin up. We stopped by Dicks to grab a hamburger and then stopped by the mall to drop some Amazon returns off at Kohl’s. 
In the evening I walked another 3 miles around Enchanted Meadows. 12.1 for the day.

Nosh N Walk: Week 49

#millersnoshnwalk week 49: We had the pleasure of hanging out with the Scurvy Dogs Book Club on the last day of the month. We had some trouble getting the gang together this month, but squeaked by on 2/28 to keep our streak alive! Going into our 11th year of the book club, we have met every month and have now read 129 books. This past month we read The Lincoln Highway, by Amor Towles, it was a good read. We met up at BBQ Pete’s and had some fantastic BBQ and invited the Scurvy Wives. I had a prime rib dip sandwich and LeAnn had the ‘Sandwich with No Name’ - sliced brisket, cheese and crispy onion straws. They even had free soft serve ice cream cones! So good.

Missionary Marathons: Elder Murphy

These past few weeks I have walked 150.4 miles for Elder Brendan Murphy, who is my nephew. (Gotta go a few extra marathons for my family!) I decided to walk the distance between the first two Cities he has served in in Finland, Turku and Lahti. Brendan is a special man, with a beautiful smile. He is intelligent, kind and thoughtful. It has been a privilege to watch him grow up and become such a man who is now serving the Lord with all his heart, might, mind and strength. It is an honor to be his uncle.
