Day 279 - SadHappy
Flurry of activity today. We heard from Austin that they are planning on trying to get the missionaries out of the country. He is having a crazy emotional journey of trying to prepare for his while still being on lockdown in their apartment. They cant go out and see anyone or say goodbye. Luckily, he has been able to call us from his cell phone using some random number that is routed through Canada. Not quite sure how that works. He is so sad to have to leave. He is starting to really feel good with the language and the teaching and learning and loving so many people down there. To have all o that pulled away from him because of the virus is pretty heart-breaking. We feel so sad for him, but sure are happy that we will hopefully be able to see him much sooner than we thought! At this point, we dont know exactly when it will happen.
In my walk today, I was walking on the Jovita trail and about halfway along, looked down and found a Drivers License lying there on the rail. I looked at the name and picture and saw that the address was maybe a half mile away. So I decided to go and hand deliver it. The lady's name was Michelle Rose and she lived up in Edgewood. I found her place based on the address listed and knocked on her door. She came out and I showed her what I found. She was so excited. She told me: 'You saved me a trip to the licensing office! Thanks for being such a kind man. I would hug you if I could!" (but cant because of Coronavirus concerns) So, it was nice to do a good deed!
