Day 438 - Miller Family 50 minute Walk

This is how cool my family is: Being big supporters of my #SeattleToBahiaBlanca walking goal, for my 50th birthday they organized a 50 minute family walk. We all got on FaceTime and walked together with Mom and Dad, brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews and were able to enjoy the beauty of Nature and spending some quality time with each other. On top of that, they all chipped in to purchase me a couple of pair of waterproof shoes in preparation for the wet fall and winter walking seasons in the Pacific Northwest. (Also pictured below is my waterproof pair from last year which were starting to wear through in the soles).  THEN, to cap it off, mom and dad and each of my siblings wrote me a sweet letter talking about fond memories of growing up together and what they appreciate about our relationships. So blessed.

Nosh N Walk: Week 49

#millersnoshnwalk week 49: We had the pleasure of hanging out with the Scurvy Dogs Book Club on the last day of the month. We had some trouble getting the gang together this month, but squeaked by on 2/28 to keep our streak alive! Going into our 11th year of the book club, we have met every month and have now read 129 books. This past month we read The Lincoln Highway, by Amor Towles, it was a good read. We met up at BBQ Pete’s and had some fantastic BBQ and invited the Scurvy Wives. I had a prime rib dip sandwich and LeAnn had the ‘Sandwich with No Name’ - sliced brisket, cheese and crispy onion straws. They even had free soft serve ice cream cones! So good.

Missionary Marathons: Elder Murphy

While on my Journey to complete walking 24,901 miles of #ToddlingAroundTheEquator, I am focusing these walks on the amazing missionaries that I know that are serving around the world. I am dedicating walking a marathon of miles for these missionaries and tag them as #missionarymarathons. I am so grateful to these faithful missionaries for dedicating their lives to teaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ! These past few weeks I have walked 150.4 miles for Elder Brendan Murphy, who is my nephew. (Gotta go a few extra marathons for my family!) I decided to walk the distance between the first two Cities he has served in in Finland, Turku and Lahti. Brendan is a special man, with a beautiful smile. He is intelligent, kind and thoughtful. It has been a privilege to watch him grow up and become such a man who is now serving the Lord with all his heart, might, mind and strength. It is an honor to be his uncle.
