Day 441 - White River

Got a late start today, but finished strong with11.3 miles for the day. I didn’t get out for my first walk until about 4. Drove down to the Sumner trail and walked along the White River. There was construction going on for a new levee, so had to detour through the industrial area and a bunch of Amazon warehouses.

A bit later, as it was getting dark, went and walked about 3 miles around the Jovita neighborhoods across Military. (Even watched someone Disney movies on my phone while walking at night). 
Then after about an hour off, went and hit the treadmill to finish for the day.

Nosh N Walk: Week 49

#millersnoshnwalk week 49: We had the pleasure of hanging out with the Scurvy Dogs Book Club on the last day of the month. We had some trouble getting the gang together this month, but squeaked by on 2/28 to keep our streak alive! Going into our 11th year of the book club, we have met every month and have now read 129 books. This past month we read The Lincoln Highway, by Amor Towles, it was a good read. We met up at BBQ Pete’s and had some fantastic BBQ and invited the Scurvy Wives. I had a prime rib dip sandwich and LeAnn had the ‘Sandwich with No Name’ - sliced brisket, cheese and crispy onion straws. They even had free soft serve ice cream cones! So good.

Missionary Marathons: Elder Murphy

I am so grateful to these faithful missionaries for dedicating their lives to teaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ! These past few weeks I have walked 150.4 miles for Elder Brendan Murphy, who is my nephew. (Gotta go a few extra marathons for my family!) I decided to walk the distance between the first two Cities he has served in in Finland, Turku and Lahti. Brendan is a special man, with a beautiful smile. He is intelligent, kind and thoughtful. It has been a privilege to watch him grow up and become such a man who is now serving the Lord with all his heart, might, mind and strength. It is an honor to be his uncle.
