Day 461 - Austin!

He’s looking good! Though he did injure his foot last weeks. Sad. 
Here is his letter:

(Sorry I didn't send out an email last week, I broke my foot and things went south haha)

We're living with a Brazilian in our apartment now and I'm taking advantage of it. I'm hoping to come home trilingual! Portuguese is really similar to Spanish, so I've been practicing and having Elder Da Silva mentor me. Updates coming in the following weeks.

We had a lot of great lessons this week! Our lesson we had with Kathya was awesome. We talked about the importance of love and families. I love my family so much and I'm so grateful for the love that they show me each day.

I know that one of the biggest reasons I'm here is to bring other families together so that they can have love in their homes. 

I did end up breaking my foot last Monday which really sucks. It might be a little worse than a break, so I'm going back into the doctor this week to see what's going to happen. Hopefully it's nothing too bad!

Kathya and Kathleen have their baptism this Saturday and I'm SO excited for them. It being such joy to my soul knowing that they are choosing to follow Jesus Christ.

Nosh N Walk: Week 49

#millersnoshnwalk week 49: We had the pleasure of hanging out with the Scurvy Dogs Book Club on the last day of the month. We had some trouble getting the gang together this month, but squeaked by on 2/28 to keep our streak alive! Going into our 11th year of the book club, we have met every month and have now read 129 books. This past month we read The Lincoln Highway, by Amor Towles, it was a good read. We met up at BBQ Pete’s and had some fantastic BBQ and invited the Scurvy Wives. I had a prime rib dip sandwich and LeAnn had the ‘Sandwich with No Name’ - sliced brisket, cheese and crispy onion straws. They even had free soft serve ice cream cones! So good.

Missionary Marathons: Sister Dummer

While on my Journey to complete walking 24,901 miles of #ToddlingAroundTheEquator, I am focusing these walks on the amazing missionaries that I know that are serving around the world. I am dedicating walking a marathon of miles for these missionaries and tag them as #missionarymarathons. I am so grateful to these faithful missionaries for dedicating their lives to teaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ! This week I have walked 26.2 miles for Sister Dummer, who is serving in our Ward. We have had the privilege of having her over to our house for lessons and for dinner. It has been great to get to know her and see her beautiful smile and the love she has for the Gospel. She has been in the mission now for almost a month, and I can tell she is going to help change so many lives for the better as a missionary! I am dedicating walking a marathon of miles for these missionaries and tag them as #missionarymarathons. I am so grateful to these faithful missionaries for dedicating their lives to teaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ! These past few weeks I have walked 150.4 miles for Elder Brendan Murphy, who is my nephew. (Gotta go a few extra marathons for my family!) I decided to walk the distance between the first two Cities he has served in in Finland, Turku and Lahti. Brendan is a special man, with a beautiful smile. He is intelligent, kind and thoughtful.
