Nosh N Walk: Week 44

#millersnoshnwalk week 44: My sister Kelly, had rented out a movie theater for the stylists that work at her business, Salons by JC Seattle, Corydon to watch the new Spider-Man movie, and invited us! So, last night, we drove up to Seattle for dinner and a movie. It’s nice to see that the city is coming back to life a bit. We got to Pacific Place and headed up to the 4th floor where the restaurants are. Though we love Din Tai Fung, we decided to go to Pike Place Chowder thinking it might not be as filling and save us some room for popcorn and snacks at the movie. We got the small chowder and split a Fish and Chips. It was nom nom! Their chowder is always excellent. For our walk, we took laps around Pacific Place levels and over into Nordstrom. We remembered all of the different times we had been there with our kids to see the ‘snow’ falling inside during Christmas time, and some of the other stores that have cycled in and out - Barnes and Noble, Restoration Hardware, GameStop to name a few and the fond memories we made there. During our dinner, my siblings and I had set up a FaceTime call to surprise my mom for her birthday. So that was a blast to see her and most of my sibs. Happiest of Birthdays to my wonderful and loving mother, Linda Hellewell Miller, and thanks to Kelly for planning such a fun evening. The movie was fantastic too!

#millersnoshnwalk week 49: We had the pleasure of hanging out with the Scurvy Dogs Book Club on the last day of the month. We had some trouble getting the gang together this month, but squeaked by on 2/28 to keep our streak alive! Going into our 11th year of the book club, we have met every month and have now read 129 books. This past month we read The Lincoln Highway, by Amor Towles, it was a good read. We met up at BBQ Pete’s and had some fantastic BBQ and invited the Scurvy Wives. I had a prime rib dip sandwich and LeAnn had the ‘Sandwich with No Name’ - sliced brisket, cheese and crispy onion straws. They even had free soft serve ice cream cones! So good.

Missionary Marathons: Sister Dummer

While on my Journey to complete walking 24,901 miles of #ToddlingAroundTheEquator, I am focusing these walks on the amazing missionaries that I know that are serving around the world. I am dedicating walking a marathon of miles for these missionaries and tag them as #missionarymarathons. I am so grateful to these faithful missionaries for dedicating their lives to teaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ! This week I have walked 26.2 miles for Sister Dummer, who is serving in our Ward. We have had the privilege of having her over to our house for lessons and for dinner. It has been great to get to know her and see her beautiful smile and the love she has for the Gospel. She has been in the mission now for almost a month, and I can tell she is going to help change so many lives for the better as a missionary! Missionary Marathons: Elder Murphy

While on my Journey to complete walking 24,901 miles of #ToddlingAroundTheEquator, I am focusing these walks on the amazing missionaries that I know that are serving around the world. I am dedicating walking a marathon of miles for these missionaries and tag them as #missionarymarathons. I am so grateful to these faithful missionaries for dedicating their lives to teaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ! These past few weeks I have walked 150.4 miles for Elder Brendan Murphy, who is my nephew. (Gotta go a few extra marathons for my family!) I decided to walk the distance between the first two Cities he has served in in Finland, Turku and Lahti. Brendan is a special man, with a beautiful smile. He is intelligent, kind and thoughtful.
