Toddling Around Disney World: Day 1
#ToddlingAroundDisneyWorld Day 1
A bit bleary eyed after finally getting to sleep around 3:00 ET on Thursday, LeAnn, her twin sister, Lisa and I ‘flew’ over to Universal Studios and spent some quality time with the other muggles at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. It was freaking amazing. There really was magic in the air! We went up to Hogsmeade Village and it was just so cool being in that setting. The architecture was amazing and the shops seemed so authentic to everything we know from the books and movies. We then went up to Hogwarts Castle. This place was incredible. You line up for the ‘Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey’, and the line takes you through the castle, with interactive 3D projected exhibits of Harry and Dumbledore and even the magical portraits. It was so cool! Then the ride was pure joy and awesomeness. It is mostly a 3-D ride, and you literally feel like you are flying on a broom next the Harry. Goose bumps. Next was ‘Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure’ this was a thrilling coaster ride on Hagrids motorbike. I think I got whiplash from going so fast. There were drops and turns that I didn’t see coming! it was very fun, and I didn’t toss my cookies, so that was a win!
Then grabbed a Frozen Butter Beer and we took the Hogwarts Express train over to Diagon Alley and got lunch at the Leaky Cauldron. (This would be #millersnoshnwalk Week 43, where we even walked 8.7 miles for the day!) It was so fun to be immersed I. The world. I had Bangers and Mash ( which was a bit meh) and LeAnn had Fish and Chips. Hers was quite good! The. A quick stop at Ollivanders Wand Shop, and picked up Dumbledore wand to use in any upcoming Triwizard tournaments… it was a perfectly magical day!
We finished up by going on the Incredible Hulk Coaster, which was super-intense and fast. I thought my brain was going to shake itself out of my ears! Then we hit The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man ride - a motion-based 3D dark ride at the Islands of Adventure. It was pretty intense and cool - just like living in a real-life comic book!
