Walking the Year, Toddling the Equator and Missionary Marathons!

After a bit of a respite since completing #ToddlingAroundTheWorld at the end of last year, I am ready to move on to my next fitness/walking challenge! Though it has been nice and relaxing to pull back off of the gas these past few weeks, after 5 1/2 years of intense walking, I have often felt the pull to get up and get out and walk. It has become muscle-memory, and I have been keeping it up on a smaller scale, still walking about 5 1/2 miles a day. Which ties in perfectly to my new goal of continuing to #WalkTheYear each year. This was a challenge I had taken on over the past five years, which is called Run The Year (though obviously I walk it). This will be my sixth year in a row. You can see from the picture of Run the Year swag that just arrived: they have a cool medal, that you can add a magnetic piece to the medal after finishing portions of the challenge - 500, 1000, 1500 and 2022 miles. The. They also sent me the 6 year medallion. The shirt, I will put away until I have completed the challenge and can then wear it after earning it. Along With the #walktheyear challenge, I have also decided to add onto the #ToddlingAroundTheWorld miles, and apply those towards my new challenge of #ToddlingAroundTheEquator! The total miles around the equator is 24,901. Adding the difference between the 16,710 miles already completed, leaves 8,191 miles to complete the distance in miles around the equator of the Earth. I will plan on completing that over the course of the next four years. Four more years of walking the year and I’m there! One more way that I will continue to use as inspiration on these walks, is that I will dedicate portions of the journey to missionaries that are serving so diligently during these trying times. Just as Autumn and Austin inspired me to work hard to complete so many miles, I will dedicate more marathons worth of walking to other missionaries that I know that are out there serving with all their heart, might, mind and strength. I will tag these journeys going forward as #MissionaryMarathons The journey of 24,901 miles begins with a single step! Gotta keep on Toddling!
