Day 400 - Down to Long Beach!

We have had this time planned for a year or so. We were finally going to have a Miller Reunion in Washington! Then Covid. :( The governor put restrictions on gatherings of people in groups of more than 10. Since we would have 30 plus people gathering, and grandpa Miller has some problems with diabetes and his kidneys, we thought it would be safer to cancel this years reunion. It was sad and hard to do, but decided that would be the smart move. We still had our condos at World Mark Long beach reserved, so we still kept that and went down. We asked Jaylin if she wanted to invite a friend, and she invited Kiriauna Bolli. It was good for Jaylin to have a friend there to hang out with. Kelly and Ruth were also down at their beach house, so we were planning on seeing them a few times while down there, since we would still be under the 'group of 10' gathering limitation. We packed up and left around 1:00. Had a good drive down and then went over to Kellys for dinner after unpacking at the condo. Obviously, with the travel, didnt get much walking in, and thats OK. The big miles days make up for days like today.

#millersnoshnwalk week 49: We had the pleasure of hanging out with the Scurvy Dogs Book Club on the last day of the month. We had some trouble getting the gang together this month, but squeaked by on 2/28 to keep our streak alive! Going into our 11th year of the book club, we have met every month and have now read 129 books. This past month we read The Lincoln Highway, by Amor Towles, it was a good read. We met up at BBQ Pete’s and had some fantastic BBQ and invited the Scurvy Wives. I had a prime rib dip sandwich and LeAnn had the ‘Sandwich with No Name’ - sliced brisket, cheese and crispy onion straws. They even had free soft serve ice cream cones! So good.

Missionary Marathons: Sister Dummer

While on my Journey to complete walking 24,901 miles of #ToddlingAroundTheEquator, I am focusing these walks on the amazing missionaries that I know that are serving around the world. I am dedicating walking a marathon of miles for these missionaries and tag them as #missionarymarathons. I am so grateful to these faithful missionaries for dedicating their lives to teaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ! This week I have walked 26.2 miles for Sister Dummer, who is serving in our Ward. We have had the privilege of having her over to our house for lessons and for dinner. It has been great to get to know her and see her beautiful smile and the love she has for the Gospel. She has been in the mission now for almost a month, and I can tell she is going to help change so many lives for the better as a missionary! I am dedicating walking a marathon of miles for these missionaries and tag them as #missionarymarathons. I am so grateful to these faithful missionaries for dedicating their lives to teaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ! These past few weeks I have walked 150.4 miles for Elder Brendan Murphy, who is my nephew. (Gotta go a few extra marathons for my family!) I decided to walk the distance between the first two Cities he has served in in Finland, Turku and Lahti. Brendan is a special man, with a beautiful smile. He is intelligent, kind and thoughtful.
