Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium- Day 88

Walked Flash in the morning before going to the Aquarium. Promptly stepped in a big pile of another dogs poop. Finished the walk, came back and washed it off. I’ll be dealing with much grosser stuff with the fish heads and guts while prepping the shark food, so just brushed it off. Got to the zoo and did my lap around the grounds. So nice having the whole place to myself. Was checking out the wolf pups that were checking out me. I plan on doing the interpreter training for the wolves in a couple of weeks, so should be able to help out with that exhibit too. Finished prepping the food an hour early, so took a walk down to Owen beach to get some more miles in. Saw another seal down there, got back to help with the shark feed and helped with the Jacks and Golden fish. They would take chopped up chunks off herring, sardines.
Walked a bit more around the neighborhood in the early evening and hit my 70 mile goal for the week.

Nosh N Walk: Week 49

#millersnoshnwalk week 49: We had the pleasure of hanging out with the Scurvy Dogs Book Club on the last day of the month. We had some trouble getting the gang together this month, but squeaked by on 2/28 to keep our streak alive! Going into our 11th year of the book club, we have met every month and have now read 129 books. This past month we read The Lincoln Highway, by Amor Towles, it was a good read. We met up at BBQ Pete’s and had some fantastic BBQ and invited the Scurvy Wives. I had a prime rib dip sandwich and LeAnn had the ‘Sandwich with No Name’ - sliced brisket, cheese and crispy onion straws. They even had free soft serve ice cream cones! So good.

Missionary Marathons: Sister Dummer

While on my Journey to complete walking 24,901 miles of #ToddlingAroundTheEquator, I am focusing these walks on the amazing missionaries that I know that are serving around the world. I am dedicating walking a marathon of miles for these missionaries and tag them as #missionarymarathons. I am so grateful to these faithful missionaries for dedicating their lives to teaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ! This week I have walked 26.2 miles for Sister Dummer, who is serving in our Ward. We have had the privilege of having her over to our house for lessons and for dinner. It has been great to get to know her and see her beautiful smile and the love she has for the Gospel. She has been in the mission now for almost a month, and I can tell she is going to help change so many lives for the better as a missionary! I am dedicating walking a marathon of miles for these missionaries and tag them as #missionarymarathons. I am so grateful to these faithful missionaries for dedicating their lives to teaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ! These past few weeks I have walked 150.4 miles for Elder Brendan Murphy, who is my nephew. (Gotta go a few extra marathons for my family!) I decided to walk the distance between the first two Cities he has served in in Finland, Turku and Lahti. Brendan is a special man, with a beautiful smile. He is intelligent, kind and thoughtful.
