Day 361 - Tyranasaurus Bjorn

Walked out towards the Bjorns house as Brother Bjorn told me at Autumns reception that he had added some new pieces to his painted rock garden. When I got out that way, I found him in his front yard baiting mole traps. We chatted for a bit and then he motioned me over to behold this magnificent beast!

How spectacular is that! It was glorious to behold! What perfect imagination to come up with this beastly dinosaur! 
As I headed back out, I also ran into the Blackner’s and had a nice visit with them as well. 
Then the heavens opened and I was nearly drenched through before I found refuge under this stand of trees.

After 4 minutes the storm abated and I was able to return the rest of the way home unhindered by the torrent. 

Completed 6.3 miles tonight on the treadmill for a total of 14.6 miles for the day.

#millersnoshnwalk week 49: We had the pleasure of hanging out with the Scurvy Dogs Book Club on the last day of the month. We had some trouble getting the gang together this month, but squeaked by on 2/28 to keep our streak alive! Going into our 11th year of the book club, we have met every month and have now read 129 books. This past month we read The Lincoln Highway, by Amor Towles, it was a good read. We met up at BBQ Pete’s and had some fantastic BBQ and invited the Scurvy Wives. I had a prime rib dip sandwich and LeAnn had the ‘Sandwich with No Name’ - sliced brisket, cheese and crispy onion straws. They even had free soft serve ice cream cones! So good.

Missionary Marathons: Sister Dummer

While on my Journey to complete walking 24,901 miles of #ToddlingAroundTheEquator, I am focusing these walks on the amazing missionaries that I know that are serving around the world. I am dedicating walking a marathon of miles for these missionaries and tag them as #missionarymarathons. I am so grateful to these faithful missionaries for dedicating their lives to teaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ! This week I have walked 26.2 miles for Sister Dummer, who is serving in our Ward. We have had the privilege of having her over to our house for lessons and for dinner. It has been great to get to know her and see her beautiful smile and the love she has for the Gospel. She has been in the mission now for almost a month, and I can tell she is going to help change so many lives for the better as a missionary! These past few weeks I have walked 150.4 miles for Elder Brendan Murphy, who is my nephew. (Gotta go a few extra marathons for my family!) I decided to walk the distance between the first two Cities he has served in in Finland, Turku and Lahti. Brendan is a special man, with a beautiful smile. He is intelligent, kind and thoughtful.
