Day 466 - The Marathon!
9:21 am, mile 4.8, The Pagoda
One of my favorite places in Point Defiance Park, the Pagoda. 9:20 amBrings back fond memories of being a missionary in Japan
9:30 am, mile 5, PDZA
After having been a volunteer at the aquarium for a year, Covid changed that and now I haven’t been able to go back for 6 months. Miss this place. This is the new aquarium, where they have hammerheads and sea turtles
9:42 am, mile 5.7, Old Growth
It just doesn’t get much prettier than this
10:00 am, mile 6.7, Halfway there!
Just hit the halfway mark. Knees are sore, but that’s normal. Hammies are a bit tight, but that’s normal for me too! Came up on the Vashon Island viewpoint right here.
10:08 am, mile 7.1, the mountaineer tree
This baby is 200 feet tall!
10:13 am, mile 7.4, Dalco Passage Viewpoint
10:23 am, mile 8, Narrows Viewpoint
I can see the halfway point at the end of the Narrows bridge over there!
10:43 am, mile 9
Found a place to sit for a bit
11:00 am. mile 10.1. Taking a break to update the blog. Lost total connectivity in the Park. Yay TMO! So wasn’t able to update for a while there. Just three miles to go until halfway point. I’ll be meeting LeAnn for lunch and we will walk a bit together. Looking forward to that. I have now hit my average miles for what I usually do in a day for the #seattletobahiablanca journey. Miles to go before I sleep...
12:20 pm, mile 14, ouch!Everything hurts! Just lying here on the grass and I don’t care that water is soaking through my clothes. But only 12 miles to go! Waiting at this park for LeAnn and her brother Dave, who went and got Chick FilAfor lunch. We will walk the Narrows bridge together after lunch.
You’re doing great, what a beautiful day you chose! Especially after yesterday torrential downpour. Looking forward to meeting you for lunch and crossing the bridge together💕
