Day 479 - Utah National Parks Challenge
Today I was able to complete the Utah National Parks Virtual challenge. I came in seventh place on the leaderboard. It took me 39 days to complete the 369 mile distance. I came in at 9.49 miles per day, just a bit short of my 10 mile per day goal. There were a few days of travel within that time period where we were driving back and forth to Idaho for Autumn and Clay’s sealing at the Rexburg temple. Given that, I cut myself a little bit of slack as its hard to walk much when you are in the car for 12 hours a day. :)
I thought I would be one of the crazy ones that did that much mileage each day. Apparently, there are more crazies out there that are not only older, but walk/run more than 20 miles a day!
I have slacked off a bit in posting updates on www.toddlingaroundtheworld.com blog since Austin came home last week. I will work on getting posts in there more frequently going forward.
It has been so wonderful to have Austin home. He keeps up with a positive attitude and a smile on his face, even though he has been on crutches for 1 month, and after surgery on 10/16, will likely be on them for another couple of months. He even went with me to Des Moines Marina and ‘Walked’ with me out to the end of the Pier. He is actually faster on his crutches than I am while walking my standard pace. I sure love this guy!
