Nosh N Walk: Weeks 29 and 30
#millersnoshnwalk weeks 29 and 30
Last weekend Kelly and Ruth invited us down to Long Beach for a stay in their condo. It was awesome, of course! The weather was perfect, the beach was beautiful, AND we even had Austin with us for the weekend as he had come home to renew his drivers license. We had a nice walk on the beach and enjoyed the tide pools. Saturday evening, We went out to eat together at the North Beach Tavern. We had Nachos, Dogs, pizza and Austin had a Salmon Burger. It was some good grub. It was fun to eat outside while being able to smell the sweet ocean air of the Pacific. Thanks to Kelly and Ruth for showing us a great time!
This weekend LeAnn and I had a good plan for our outing, but it went a bit awry. We went to the Seattle Temple for a session, which was wonderful. Then had planned to head down to Factoria for our Nosh. We drove over to Katsu Burger to find the parking lot full and the few tables inside packed full. With that, moved to Plan B and drove into Newport to a place called the Blazing Onion Burger. Same type of scene, if not even more crowded. Drove around for 5 minutes to find a spot, with a bunch of cars parked in places that weren’t parking places, and decided to move along again. For plan C, drove to Newcastle and found a place called the Mustard Seed Grill. Peeked inside and saw there were a few open tables. Went in, and found a seat at a pretty gross, not washed down table. There was a Mariners game on, so it was a little crazy, but not too bad as there were only about 10 tables with two waitresses. 10 minutes later a waitress finally came to check on us. 45 minutes later we still hadn’t received our food. Our waitress never came back to our table, while we saw her check on everyone else multiple times and people that came in after us had already received their food. So we bailed. It was quite ridiculous. We ended up driving through McDonalds as a last resort, since it was almost 9:00 by then.
To make up for striking out on Friday, we ordered DoorDash from New York Vinnies Pizza. Got a combo to enjoy while watching General Conference. We liked the pizza and the crust was great. Toppings weren’t spread out too well- otherwise a great pie!
