Nosh N Walk: Week 35, 36 and 37
#millersnoshnwalk weeks 35, 36, 37
Need to catch up on the last few weeks!
Three weeks ago, we had a special dinner to celebrate a birthday with our beloved mother, Janice Allen Thorne. She picked a relitively unknown, small-time Italian place called Olive Garden. 🙂 it was wonderful to have a nice dinner with LeAnn’s parents and her brother Matt joined us as well. The food was great and you gotta love the endless salad and breadsticks. Just make sure you save some room for the entree! We love this lady with all our hearts. She is kind and loving and so talented. We are blessed to be part of her family.
Two weeks ago, we took a jaunt down to T-Town and hit up Blazing Onion. This one is in the mall parking lot, and it was crazy busy on a Friday night. Had to park out in the boonies to find a spot. So we got our walking in- to and from the car! We had about an hour before we were planning on seeing the new Bond movie down on Ruston, so had to hustle our order in. The burgers were great, and we enjoyed the options besides fries on the side. I had Mac and Cheese and LeAnn tried the Onion petals. Seems like there was a bit too much batter on them, but they were a nice change of pace. Then we had to hurry out to the waterfront for the movie and made it just in time for it to start.
Finally, this past weekend, as we were in Couer D’Alene for Thanksgiving, we got to go out with two of our awesome kids, Austin and Jaylin! We asked what type of cuisine they would like, and Jaylin picked Italian. Found a couple of options in CDA and drove around the lake at about 4:30. The one caveat being, that there was a parade and Christmas light ceremony going on in town at 5:00. When we drove in, we found streets blocked off and had to park outside of town a bit to find parking. We walked downtown and there were thousands of people already lined up for the parade. (Found out after the fact that around 40,000 attend this each year) the first place we tried to go was right in town and had an hour waiting list. So we decided to walk to another place about 10 blocks outside of town to get away from the crowds. The place was called Angelo’s, and though it turned out a bit expensive, ($23 for a smallish portion of fettuccine) the ambiance was nice and the food was pretty good. LeAnn had linguine with clams, Austin had Spaghetti with two enormous sausage and Jaylin and I both had the fettuccine and Caesar salads. After dinner we walked back into town and enjoyed the Christmas lights. We walked about three miles that night. It was wonderful to be with our kids.
