Toddling Around Disney World: Day 2

#ToddlingAroundDisneyWorld Day 2 All of my wildest dreams just came true at Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge today. With LeAnn, I was able to roar at Chewbacca, ride on the Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run, and then hit Star Tours with C3PO (a 3D adventure, which actually made me a bit nauseous) Then for the highlight of the day, build my own R-Series robot at the Droid Depot. We tried both Blue AND Green milk (berry and citrus flavored. The consensus was that the Blue was better) Had some Galactic grub at the Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo Restaurant - Fried Endorian Chicken Tip Yip. This place was awesome, I had to pinch myself while walking up to the AT-AT and seeing the full-scale Millennium Falcon. I seriously had goose bumps at times. 🙂 We then went to the Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular, went through Toy Story Land and hopped over to Magic Kingdom to finish off the day. We waited for 45 minutes for the Thunder Mountain ride, always and classic, and grabbed a hot dog for dinner. At this point, I was pretty wiped out , so went back to the car for a nap (man, I am getting old!) while LeAnn and Lisa stayed to watch the fireworks and they did the Pirates of the Caribbean ride. What a happy day at the Happiest Place on Earth!

Nosh N Walk: Week 49

#millersnoshnwalk week 49: We had the pleasure of hanging out with the Scurvy Dogs Book Club on the last day of the month. We had some trouble getting the gang together this month, but squeaked by on 2/28 to keep our streak alive! Going into our 11th year of the book club, we have met every month and have now read 129 books. This past month we read The Lincoln Highway, by Amor Towles, it was a good read. We met up at BBQ Pete’s and had some fantastic BBQ and invited the Scurvy Wives. I had a prime rib dip sandwich and LeAnn had the ‘Sandwich with No Name’ - sliced brisket, cheese and crispy onion straws. They even had free soft serve ice cream cones! So good.

Missionary Marathons: Sister Dummer

While on my Journey to complete walking 24,901 miles of #ToddlingAroundTheEquator, I am focusing these walks on the amazing missionaries that I know that are serving around the world. I am dedicating walking a marathon of miles for these missionaries and tag them as #missionarymarathons. I am so grateful to these faithful missionaries for dedicating their lives to teaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ! This week I have walked 26.2 miles for Sister Dummer, who is serving in our Ward. We have had the privilege of having her over to our house for lessons and for dinner. It has been great to get to know her and see her beautiful smile and the love she has for the Gospel. She has been in the mission now for almost a month, and I can tell she is going to help change so many lives for the better as a missionary! While on my Journey to complete walking 24,901 miles of #ToddlingAroundTheEquator, I am focusing these walks on the amazing missionaries that I know that are serving around the world. I am dedicating walking a marathon of miles for these missionaries and tag them as #missionarymarathons. I am so grateful to these faithful missionaries for dedicating their lives to teaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ! These past few weeks I have walked 150.4 miles for Elder Brendan Murphy, who is my nephew. (Gotta go a few extra marathons for my family!) I decided to walk the distance between the first two Cities he has served in in Finland, Turku and Lahti. Brendan is a special man, with a beautiful smile. He is intelligent, kind and thoughtful. It has been a privilege to watch him grow up and become such a man who is now serving the Lord with all his heart, might, mind and strength. It is an honor to be his uncle.
