7,020 Miles Without Fail!

03/21/2021 For 642 days, Every morning, every afternoon and every night, I have walked for my son, Austin. I walk to support him as the missionary that he has been and now as he moves forward to find his way in life. For 642 days, I have averaged 9.6 miles of walking on my way to Argentina from Seattle. I’ve been blessed with the health and endurance to walk 6,162 miles from the time that he left as a missionary. This distance has finally brought me to the country of Argentina, in San Juan Province! Now with only 838 miles to go, the finish line is almost in sight. I will finish by 6/18/2021, which would have been two years since the day Austin became a missionary. I strive each day to do my best to fulfill this mission of walking to Argentina, just as I know each day Austin is doing his best to be the best version of himself. I love my son with all my heart, and will give everything I’ve got to complete this walking mission for him. What we believe, we can achieve. 7,020 miles without fail! ============= Austin has been working so hard at school, and is striving to get into the BYU business school. #millersnoshnwalk week 49: We had the pleasure of hanging out with the Scurvy Dogs Book Club on the last day of the month. We had some trouble getting the gang together this month, but squeaked by on 2/28 to keep our streak alive! Going into our 11th year of the book club, we have met every month and have now read 129 books. This past month we read The Lincoln Highway, by Amor Towles, it was a good read. We met up at BBQ Pete’s and had some fantastic BBQ and invited the Scurvy Wives. I had a prime rib dip sandwich and LeAnn had the ‘Sandwich with No Name’ - sliced brisket, cheese and crispy onion straws. They even had free soft serve ice cream cones! So good.

Missionary Marathons: Sister Dummer

While on my Journey to complete walking 24,901 miles of #ToddlingAroundTheEquator, I am focusing these walks on the amazing missionaries that I know that are serving around the world. I am dedicating walking a marathon of miles for these missionaries and tag them as #missionarymarathons. I am so grateful to these faithful missionaries for dedicating their lives to teaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ! This week I have walked 26.2 miles for Sister Dummer, who is serving in our Ward. We have had the privilege of having her over to our house for lessons and for dinner. It has been great to get to know her and see her beautiful smile and the love she has for the Gospel. She has been in the mission now for almost a month, and I can tell she is going to help change so many lives for the better as a missionary! I am dedicating walking a marathon of miles for these missionaries and tag them as #missionarymarathons. I am so grateful to these faithful missionaries for dedicating their lives to teaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ! These past few weeks I have walked 150.4 miles for Elder Brendan Murphy, who is my nephew. (Gotta go a few extra marathons for my family!) I decided to walk the distance between the first two Cities he has served in in Finland, Turku and Lahti. Brendan is a special man, with a beautiful smile. He is intelligent, kind and thoughtful.
