DC Comics

02/15/2021 Recently completed the DC #TreadmillMovieMarathons. It was a fun journey filled with bats, penguins, jokers, riddlers, lanterns, Wonders, Supers, Robins, Aquamen and Losers. One of the statements that really stood out for me was from the ‘V for Vendetta’ movie: especially because it is so apparent in the PNW, is ‘God is in the Rain' I hadn’t seen this one before, but there are quite a few parallels with what is going on in our day with the political climate and the pandemic. This has made me think on how God gives us rain, which in turn gives us so much beauty and happiness and also life itself on this earth. Imagine a world without flowers and trees and lakes and rivers and oceans and all of the life therein. Without the water that gives each of us sustenance each day. Showers, hot tubs and toilets, dishwashers and washing machines all function because of the bounty of the rain. Though we may not like it when it rains in general and we would prefer to stay out of it and be dry, and especially when it ‘rains on our parades', it is important to realize that through what might be uncomfortable at any given time when we might not especially appreciate it, this same rain can bring us joy through its end result. And so it is with life: We can grow through our trials and take that rain and turn it into a thing of beauty. I see Austin doing this now in his life. He had some difficult times to deal with the pandemic and the injury that he had on his mission and then making the determination to move forward with faith onto the next phase of his life. He has been back at BYU now for a month and is continuing to grow in leaps and bounds. He is diving into his classes with all of his heart, might, mind and strength and coming to a better understanding of what he wants to do with his education as he looks toward the future. I am so happy for him and the path he is on. The world has a true warrior finding his way at this time. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Finished 28 DC Comics movies over the past month: Wonder Woman, 141m Wonder Woman 1984, 152m Man of Steel, 143m Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, 152m Suicide Squad, 123m Birds of Prey, 109m Justice League, 120m Aquaman, 143m Shazam, 132m Green Lantern, 114m Joker, 122m Batman, 126m Batman Returns, 126m Batman Forever, 121m Batman & Robin, 125m Catwoman, 104m Batman Begins, 140m The Dark Knight, 152m The Dark Knight Rises, 165m Superman,143m Superman II,127m Superman III, 125m Superman IV, 90m Supergirl, 124m Superman Returns, 154m V for Vendetta, 132m Watchmen, 163m The Losers, 97m 3665 minutes = 7.19 marathons, approximately 188 miles #SeattletoBahiaBlanca Completed 5849.5 #SeattletoBahiaBlanca Remaining 1170.5 #ToddlingAroundtheWorld Completed 14525.97 #ToddlingAroundTheWorld Remaining 2,184 2021 miles Completed 411.1
